Driver fighting for his life after early morning crash
8:02am Thursday 3rd January 2013 in News By Ben James
A driver is fighting for his life after a car crash earlier this morning (January 3).
The man, who is thought to be in his 20s, veered off South Road, Hailsham, before hitting a wall and flipping his car onto the roof.
Firefighters were called shortly after 5.10am and cut the driver free.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with what police described as “potentially life-threatening injuries”.
The incident has closed the A295, one of the main routes into Hailsham off the A22, and is likely to cause a significant amount of morning rush hour disruption.
Anyone who witnessed the incident should call police on 101 quoting Operation Goldwick or e-mail collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk

Cars don't just mount kerbs, miss tunnel entrances, crash into lamposts or flip over all by themselves without a degree of error or lack of skill from the pilot.
Best wishes to the young feller concerned but he's evidently part of a driving culture that's seriously lacking in roadcraft. And it is serious because more and more people are getting hurt. Needs sorting out, not apologising for or blaming puddles etc.
