Runners are being urged to sign up for this years Brighton Marathon to help raise money for charity.
Three charities have issued appeals for peple to take part in the fourth annual race taking place on April 14.
Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance
Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance need help to fund the charity’s plans for night flying.
It costs £5 million a year to keep the charity’s helicopters flying during daylight hours but this figure will rise to £6million when a 24-hour service is launched this year.
The Air Ambulance currently has 23 charity places available for runners who can commit to raising a minimum of £500.
All Air Ambulance entrants will be given an opportunity to visit the helicopter base and meet the pilot, doctor and paramedic, subject to emergency call-outs
They will also receive a fundraising pack including sponsor forms, support and advice from the charity’s fundraising team, a training guide and an Air Ambulance running vest.

Marie Curie Cancer Care
Marie Curie Cancer Care has got more places in the Brighton Marathon.
After running out of entries, the charity is now looking for more runners to compete.
Aaron Shamoon, who ran for Marie Curie last year, said: “Having made the decision to participate, my intentions were always then to complete the run in aid of a charity.
“Marie Curie is a charity I have had involvement with over previous years.
“Having had firsthand experience of the specialist care and support it provides to not only people living with terminal cancers and illnesses, but their relatives as well, I both admire and respect the individuals working within the charity and couldn’t think of a more worthy cause.”
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides free nursing to the terminally ill in their home or in its hospices.

Blind Veterans UK
As the national charity for blind ex-Servicemen and women, Blind Veterans UK provides first class support, rehabilitation and training to blind veterans, regardless of when they served or how they lost their sight.
Tracy Stratford, senior events officer at Blind Veterans UK, said: “Brighton is home to our oldest centre where we care for vision impaired ex-Servicemen and women, which is why the Brighton Marathon is especially important to our charity.”
