Sussex MP has written to the Prime Minister urging him it is in Britain’s national interest to lead the EU.
Nicholas Soames, who represents Mid Sussex in Parliament, joined with 30 other Conservative MPs recommending David Cameron offers a positive vision of British leadership in Europe.
The signatories recommend the official party policy is to remain an ‘active and activist’ member of the EU rather than withdrawing from it.
Mr Soames said: “We are fundamentally united by our belief that the UK national interest is best served working for changes within the EU, not being marginalised at the fringes.”
