Police have released a second photo of murdered Lee Williams in a bid to jog people’s memories.
They want members of the public to think about whether they saw Mr Williams recently – and to come forward if they did.
On Monday, February 18 – a week after Mr Williams’ body was found – officers are considering hosting an anniversary appeal at the spot where the 45-year-old’s body was found.
His body was discovered in an archway at Hove’s pitch and putt by homelessness workers and he had suffered severe head, face and body injuries.
Police described the attack on Mr Williams, originally from Hastings, as “violent and sustained”.
Now in a bid to jog people's memories police have released a new picture of Mr Williams who was an alcoholic.
Police want to build up a picture of Mr Williams’ final movements in Brighton and Hove.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Pollard, who is leading the investigation, said: “Lee regularly wore glasses as shown in this photograph which significantly changes his appearance.
“I'm hoping that by releasing this photo it may jog some people's memory who perhaps saw him in the days leading up to his death.
"We are following up on several sightings from members of the public who have recently called in but we need more people to come forward and help us find Lee's killer.
"Officers are continuing with local enquiries.
"I'm aware that this brutal crime will have shocked local residents and in particular, the homeless community.
“I would advise those who are concerned to speak to their local neighbourhood officers and in the case of the rough sleepers, to make contact, if they haven't already, with the many homeless project charities and support networks that exist within the city.”
Mr Williams was 5ft 9ins, slim with short brown hair, brown beard and had a distinctive barbed wire tattoo across his collar bone. He quite often wore glasses with very thick lenses.
