Two men arrested after Brighton street robbery

Two men have been arrested following a street robbery in the early hours of this morning (February 26).

Police were called after reports a 29-year old was attacked from behind in Charlotte Street, Brighton, at 3.15am.

He was robbed of his wallet and mobile phone.

Police searched the area and arrested two men just ten minutes later.

A wallet and mobile phone were recovered.

The pair are currently in custody for interviews and further enquiries.

The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital to be treated for head injuries but is expected to be discharged later today.

I should imagine this is not their first offence waiting for victims in the early hours, lets hope they are kept off our streets for as long as possible, then tagged with a night time curfew until they get a job.

Bring back the stocks. Let them hear from the people they pray on, let them be shamed for what they are. Why should the taxpayer pay for them to be processed - Saturday mornings, town centre!

Well done Police.Now lets hope the judges do what they should be doing.Jail the thugs and if they are under 21.Aylesbury prison will be just fine.

I agree im pleased the police got them,unless the punishment is harsh these attacks will carry on.No bail jail them .Then when they are out community service .

I think instead of prison which doesnt seem to work that young offenders should be put into a work camp with a strict military routine. Teach them respect and disciplin. 4 months of national service. Make them get up at dawn and exercise after that put them into an apprenticeship and eventually pay back what they have stolen!
