A Brighton artist’s 18-foot- high recycled bee sculpture was officially unveiled at Glastonbury Festival.
Artist and designer Ptolemy Elrington unveiled Bee Clever, commissioned by green-cleaning brand Ecover, which took 900 hours to build.
It is made only from recycled material, including waste plastic fished from the sea.
Crowned by a six-metre-high flower, it was based at the festival’s central meeting point, William’s Green.
Bee Clever includes 1,000 empty Ecover bottles, 120 hubcaps – three on each of the
40 petals, 50 large donated water bottles, four car doors, two car bonnets and two
disused shopping trolleys.
