The village of Woodingdean stopped for the day as residents were greeted with glorious sunshine for the annual carnival.

The 2013 Woodingdean Carnival was held at Woodingdean Primary School on Warren Road and was attended by the Councillor Bill Randall.

Stalls opened at 11am and which prompted residents to flock to the carnival grounds and soak up the atmosphere.

A walking procession from Woodingdean Central Park arrived at the school at 1.45pm and by the time it arrived the carnival was in full flow.

Guests were treated to refreshments, a grand draw, sideshows, displays, children’s rides, fancy dress, ice creams, funfair and a range of stalls.

The event posters were sponsored this year by The Co-Operative Funeral Care who also donated £100 as the first prize in the raffle. All proceeds from the carnival go to local groups and organisations.
