Live music and family entertainment was enjoyed at a Picnic in the Park over the weekend.

The Friends of Queen’s Park set up the event which featured Unsung Lilly, ska-jazz-psychadelic fusion outfit Oscillator, the We-Bop Community Choir and teen talent Outrage.

Brighton sensation Silver Sounds also brought some samba to Queen’s Park, on Sunday.

A tea tent hosted a Great Brighton Bake-Off with prizes for adults and children’s categories, judged by the head chef at Jamie’s Italian, Brighton.

Friends secretary Sicely Knowles said: “It was fantastic. There were some wonderful bands playing.

Although there was no sun it didn’t put anyone off and you could hardly see the grass for the people.

“The bake-off was very popular with some beautiful cakes. It was the biggest event we’ve had.”
