Arty students got in on the action at an art event that has taken the city by storm this year.

Students at West Hove Junior School produced pieces of art for the Open House to coincide with their learning.

The budding artists created some masterpieces to be sold at the event, all in the theme of their topic Brighton, and one lucky visitor walked away with VIP tickets to see Robbie Williams thanks to a generous donation and a silent auction.

Headteacher Janis Taylor was thrilled with how the day turned out.

She said: “It was fantastic. It was lovely to see the community pull together and the support from friends and parents made the day really special. It’s something we’re going to look to continue in the future. The children took so much responsibility and got really involved – it was a joy to watch.

“After being professionally printed, some of the pieces they created were absolutely stunning. Most of the day was run by the children and the amount of money we’ve raised is testament to the support we received.”
