Two drivers suffered serious injuries following a crash on Monday (July 1).
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision in Turners Hill Road, Crawley, at 12.20pm.
A 40-year-old man from Crawley, who was driving a Toyota Hiace, suffered a head injury and was taken to St George's trauma unit in London.
A 61-year-old woman from Ardingly, who was driving a Honda, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
She is described as being in a “stable” condition.
The road was closed for more than four hours for emergency services to deal with the aftermath.
Any witnesses are urged to contact 101 quoting Operation Shetland.
