A motorist who was parked on double yellow lines launched a tirade of abuse at a traffic warden after he was asked to move.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened outside Tesco in Seaside Road, Eastbourne, on June 25.
The driver is described as white, aged 20-30, 5' 4", and of average build.
He was wearing light grey coloured clothing, possibly with a light coloured t-shirt.
The abuse continued from Seaside Road into Collonade Road before the suspect drove off.
PC Mark Conway said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch. This was an upsetting incident, directed at somebody simply doing their job."
