A man has admitted sexual assault – but denied trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence.
Peter Atkins, 27, a caterer, of Badgers Close, Newhaven, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday.
He was charged with trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence, and sexual assault.
The charges relate to an incident in which a man went into the victim’s home to look at an item she had advertised for sale. The woman took an advert out in a local newspaper (not The Argus) advertising an item of clothing.
A man visited her home, assaulted her and fled on foot at about 6pm on Tuesday, June 11.
Atkins will appear at the crown court on September 13.
