Next year’s Brighton Half Marathon has sold out in a record two months.

Race organisers confirmed on Monday that all 11,000 public places for the race have now been filled.

The race, now in its 24th year, will take place on Sunday, February 16.

Event manager Paul Bond, below, said: “The Brighton Half Marathon has been growing considerably over the past few years and is more popular than ever, with places for the 2014 race gone in record time.

“The race is now a firm fixture in the running calendar for many runners, and a large number of new runners choose Brighton as their first half marathon due to the beautiful seafront route and iconic city location.

“It is a very popular race with club runners and a great training ground for all spring marathons.

“I would like to express a big thank you to everyone who continues to support the Brighton Half Marathon.”

Runners who have missed out on a public place can still enter by registering to run and raise money for one of the official charities.
