A sailing mast worth more than £2,000 was stolen.
The 14-foot black carbon fibre mast and boom were taken from a boat at Bexhill Sailing Club in De La Warr Parade, between the afternoon of Saturday, June 29 and 8.30pm on Tuesday, July 2.
Inspector James Scott said: "This isn't an easy item to steal and would have taken some time to remove. It is highly likely someone witnessed the theft taking place but didn't think to call police as it may not have looked out of place.”
Any witness who may have seen someone carrying this mast from the sailing club between the times mentioned or anyone with information is asked contact police on 101 quoting serial 1474 of 2/7 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
