This week, we reported that some Brighton businesses have criticised the city council for bringing in a living wage policy for contract staff. 

The policy recommends that all companies bidding for Brighton and Hove City Council contracts pay their staff at least £7.45 an hour.

But some companies say they cannot afford this rate, and so as a consequence will be unable to bid. Read the full story here.
