This little piggy showed off his soccer skills at a fun family festival - although he did hog the ball.

More than 1000 people descended on Stoneham Park in Tamworth Road, Hove on Saturday for the park's 100th anniversary.

Visitors enjoyed stalls selling locally-sourced food, a music stage and a clown - but three little pigs were the stars of the show.

Park ranger Min Hills explained: “The Duke of Portland's bailiff used to live in a cottage nearby, and he used to keep pigs here.

“So we thought we'd bring them back for the anniversary.”

A competition was held to name the three pigs, who were borrowed for the event from Plumpton College.

In a flash of inspiration, one 10-year-old boy dubbed them piggy popstars.

Ms Hills said: “He called them Harry Sty-les, Jessie Hay and Amy Winesnout - which we thought were fantastic names.

“But he'd gone by the time we announced the winner, so we went round to his house with the pigs in the back of a Land Rover to give him his prize.

“He was so pleased.”
