Over the past few years, Brighton and Hove’s 1A bus service has improved – especially the Sunday service – although the bus company seems to be struggling now, owing to an increase in passenger numbers, making the number 1 route very slow.
One solution would be to make the 1A a limited-stopping service through Hove. There are only three 1As an hour anyway.
Heading to Brighton from the Boundary Road bus stop, the next stop should be Wish Road, then Westbourne Villas, moving straight on to George Street.
After Hove Town Hall, the next stop could be Brunswick Place, then on to Waitrose across the boundary of Brighton.
This would save the perpetual delays to residents often left stranded in Mile Oak. Frankly, if I lived in Richardson Road I would walk to Brighton in fair weather.
The improved number 6 and the number 1 can easily pick up everywhere on New Church Road.
Residents in West Hove also have the option of the number 49 and 2 in Portland Road.
