Slippery leaves caused disruption to rail services between London and Uckfield today.
Southern Rail said “poor rail conditions” caused some services to be cancelled between Sanderstead and Oxted.
A spokesman for the rail firm said mulched leaves on the line meant trains were struggling with traction on the tracks.
Network Rail’s rail maintenance train has been steaming the tracks to try and eradicate the problem, but the lines remain disrupted this evening.
