In relation to dog fouling in public spaces, Anna Sexton demands that dogs should “be on a lead at all times” (Letters, October 19).
I suggest the same control for the millions of cats who defecate at will in people’s private gardens, which is surely worse. Cats also devastate local wildlife.
There is absolutely no reason for cats not to be restrained in the same manner as dogs, yet all we hear is repeated moaning about dog mess, usually from cat-owners.
It’s rank hypocrisy.
