A biker is fighting for her life after falling from her bike and being hit by another vehicle.

The woman came off her bike in Maresfield High Street at 7.20am this morning and was then hit by a passing car.

Inspector Steve Grace from the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit said: "It's quite possible that the driver of the other vehicle didn't realise that there had been a collision, but looking back may have been aware of a bump that they put down to a traffic calming hump or similar.

"If you are that driver or you witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to one of my officers, please call us on 101 quoting Operation Westwood or e-mail collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk."
