A teenage pupil was flashed by a man as she walked to school.

The 14-year-old girl was walking to Oakmeeds Community School in Burgess Hill when a man in his early 20s exposed himself.

The incident happened at about 8.20am this morning in Marle Avenue, Burgess Hill, as she walked with two friends to the nearby school.

The man is described as white and in his early twenties.

A Sussex Police spokesman said it was not believed that the man threatened or attempted to grab the girl but the incident had upset her.

School staff advised students to walk home from school in groups and asked parents to report to police any untoward incidents their children mention.

Anyone who saw the incident should contact Sussex Police by calling 101 or emailing contact.centre@sussex.pnn.police.uk.
