Kitty in the City needs new van
4:40pm Wednesday 4th December 2013 in News
A Brighton cat rescue charity is urgently appealing for help to pay for a new van.
Kitty in the City needs to raise £2,500 for a replacement as quickly as possible.
The charity has been told the cost of repairing its broken down existing van would be so expensive it is not worth doing.
Without a suitable vehicle, the charity is unable to rescue the many stray, old or unwanted cats and kittens living on the city's streets.
With the cold winter weather coming, their plight will only get worse and the charity is keen to continue its vital work.
The charity has already received some donations and pledges but still has a long way to go.
It does not have any help from government so relies on the generosity and support of the local community.
The charity is calling on supporters to hold fundraising events such as coffee mornings or cake sales to help out.
Donations can be made online at www.kittyinthecity.org.uk or by cheque, made payable to Kitty in the City, and sent to Kitty in the City Cat Rescue, Community Base, 113 Queen's Road, Brighton, BN1 3XG.
