Road closed after cyclist accident in Eastbourne

A cyclist has been involved in a road traffic accident.

The A2280 Lottbridge Drove in Eastbourne was closed both ways after the collision at 10am this morning. 

It happened near Tesco Extra between the Seaside Roundabout and Lottbridge Roundabout.

Police said the female cyclist was knocked off her bike by a car which then nudged into another car.

The cyclist was taken to hospital though her injuries were not thought to be serious.

The car driver was treated for shock and minor whiplash.

Police said they were working to reopen the road.

We do not know yet if the cyclist or the motorist were at fault. Let's keep an open mind, awaiting further information.
