Like many who try to score political points in your letters column, Mr P Carter-Johnson (The Argus, January 14) takes issue with the Greens without making reference to the failure of previous Labour and Tory administrations.
In particular Mr Carter-Johnson lambasts the Greens for their alleged failure to take measures to prevent travellers gaining unauthorised access to council-owned property without specifically noting that the “old guard” parties had decades in office with hundreds of these situations without putting up the barricades and barbed-wire he seems to think are necessary to prevent these intrusions.
Perhaps in light of this, Mr Carter-Johnson may understand that this is a complex non-party political issue that deserves a little more consideration than petty point-scoring.
