I was amused by Councillor Christopher Hawtree’s recent letter defending his leader’s lack of a tie (The Argus, January 14).
Coun Hawtree, I’m sure, has many virtues but fashion is not his forte. Should schoolchildren at St Christopher’s in Hove abandon their ties too?
The issue with Jason Kitcat is also the T-shirt underneath the shirt, which makes for a casual student look.
Most women prefer a man in a tie or cravat. In fact, Coun Hawtree looks rather dapper when he wears a suit and tie.
Not all men can pull off the Sir Richard Branson look.
