A jogger fought off robbers when they tried to steal his mobile phone.
The man was jogging at about 5.20pm on January 26 when he was approached by two men in Petworth.
The men punched and kicked him and tried to steal his phone however he managed to struggle free and raise the alarm.
The men are described as white, with short hair. One was in his 30s, stocky and about 6' 3". The other was in his 20s, skinny and about 5' 9".
DC Andrea Watts said: "The jogger had entered the park via the New Lodge West entrance and was in the grounds when he encountered the two men. They assaulted him and he fought back before fleeing and calling police.”
