A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after smashing into a tree.

Emergency services were called to the A264, Five Oaks Road, Slinfold, on Tuesday at 10.25pm to reports a white Fiat had been travelling eastbound when it lost control and crashed into a tree.

The 33-year-old woman, who was driving, suffered serious injuries and her 28-year-old male passenger, who was also Crawley, suffered serious head injuries.

Two other people in the car, a man and woman, suffered minor injuries.

They were taken to St George's Hospital, London.
