No charge for pair arrested over cannabis plants found in Worthing house
A woman whose house was used to grow cannabis said police officers smelt the drug lingering through her front door.
The 33-year-old was arrested after police recovered 38g of cannabis, six plants and hydroponics equipment at her property in Brendon Road, Worthing, on Tuesday.
But the woman, who said her husband was responsible for the small haul, said she did not think people would notice as they lived “in the middle of nowhere”.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis but he and the woman were later released without charge.
A 32-year-old man who also lives at the house was given a caution.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “He tells me it was only for personal use and there was no intention of making money from it.
“I suppose living in a quiet area he thought there would be no reason to suspect anything.
“But when the police knocked at the door they could smell it wafting out of the house.”
Sussex Police said officers visited the house in Brendon Road after members of the public contacted them.
The visit, which wasn’t a raid, sparked suspicion when officers smelt cannabis through the front door.
The woman added: “We have a friend staying with us and he opened the door a bit bleary eyed I think. They said they could smell it when he opened the door.
“Someone told me a PCSO walked by the house the day before but I don’t see what they would have been doing around here if they didn’t already suspect something.
“I was arrested and although I had nothing to do with it, it was scary to say the least.”
Police also arrested three other people in a separate incident just minutes from the Brendon Road property.
Warrants were executed in Mendip Road and Radnor Road on February 7 when a 50-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of intent to supply class A drugs.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. All three were released on police bail.
Sergeant Jo Webb, from Worthing’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The production of illegal drugs will not be tolerated. If you have any information relating to drugs, from possession to drugs supply and production, please let us know.
“All information will be dealt with in confidence.”
