Chris Evans bought the Lickfold Inn in 2008 as the equivalent of a “boy’s toy” and seems to have had no idea about how to run it successfully in that community, so he closed it after two years.
Now after four years of dereliction he is asking locals to stump up £775,000 to buy him out (The Argus, February 11).
He is a very wealthy man. Wouldn’t it be great if he offered the pub to villagers at a knock-down price so they could try running it?
Come on Chris, you could even visit for a cosy pint on the house with the locals...
