With all the bad weather we have been experiencing, we have had our warning.
To build 11 tower blocks from ten to 42 storeys high in the outer harbour of Brighton Marina, as proposed, could be a disaster waiting to happen.
In my opinion, the buildings will be too high.
I also feel that to narrow the harbour’s entrance with blocks of flats is wrong. With our constantly-changing weather, it could be potentially dangerous.
The waves over the marina wall have been at least 70ft high recently.
Insurance for these properties is likely to be at an all-time high – if available at all.
From a personal perspective, we will lose all the views from The Cliff for ever.
In addition, protected species – birds, seagulls, herrings and sea horses – could all be put at risk, never to return to us.
We should build but within reason. There are many other points to be made – the list is quite long.
Let’s listen to nature; let this weather warning be heeded.
