You reported last year (March 27, 2013) that Newhaven Port faces closure if its subsidy is cut.
Having just learnt about this from your website, I worry that if the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry line were ever to stop running, things could be difficult for expats with families on both sides of the Channel.
For my part, my wife, who is a French national and works in France, would have to leave her job and move to England.
This would be practically impossible for her as she would need to be fluent in English to do her work over here.
So for us it would be a permanent separation and an end to our married life.
I think there is so much at stake for so many people and I hope that DFDS has been fighting for the small people who count on this service.
