Newly christened Max Miller Walk already suffering from neglect and vandalism

A commemorative walk named in memory of a pioneering British comedian is suffering from neglect and vandalism.
Max Miller Walk, named for stand up comedian Thomas Henry Sargent, better known by his stage name, Max Miller, was unveiled last year in a special ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of his death.
The walk, which runs alongside Marine Parade, has now fallen into disrepair and has been marked by graffiti artists.
Max Miller was a Brighton native, being born in Kemp Town in 1894, and was a star of stage, songs and the early screen.
On May 6 last year, the Mayor and Mayoress of Brighton and Hove and television presenter Michael Aspel OBE revealed the street sign in memory of The Cheeky Chappie.
