Regarding the “£20 million market with no toilets” (The Argus, April 2), your article suggests that the new Open Market in London Road will have no toilets for the public and traders to use when it re-opens in May.

This is incorrect. The Brighton Open Market Community Interest Company – directors of which include representatives of the market traders, the council, the Hyde Group and Ethical Property Company – has agreed with the council that the market toilets will be available for public use during market hours.

We look forward to opening a vibrant new market that supports the growing regeneration of London Road.
