Strike action is still on the cards following today's meeting between Brighton and Hove binmen and council bosses.
The GMB Sussex branch, which represents the binmen employed by Brighton and Hove City Council's CityClean department, says industrial action is still possible.
However, it adds the council is now set to come back with proposals on Friday.

Geoff Raw, the counci'ls environment spokesman, said: “We met with representatives from the GMB union this morning about our refuse and recycling service.
"The union has raised a number of issues that staff have with the changed refuse and recycling rounds.
"We are working hard to reach a way forward on these issues. We recognise and appreciate the efforts of our staff to work with us and hope to clarify these issues swiftly.
"We have agreed with GMB that we will respond on a number of issues tomorrow and on Friday.”
