Lost toy cat helping raise money for charity while waiting for its owner

A toy cat rescued from the train tracks at Brighton Station is helping to raise money for a children's charity while it waits to be reunited with its owner.
Carole Manley, 53, from Hove, spotted the pink stripy cat on the tracks while on her way to work.
After a guard retrieved it, Ms Manley took the toy which she nicknamed 'Pinky' back home before she tried to trace its owner via a teddy bear 'lost and found' campaign.
Ms Manley said: “The cat was very obvious on the track as she was so bright pink.
“I couldn't help but want to rescue her from the track and add her to Teddy Bear Lost and Found which I had been following on Twitter.”
Teddy Bear Lost and Found is a national internet campaign which aims to reunite lost toys with their owners by posting pictures of them on social media sites.
Since it began in 2012 more than 800 lost teddies and toys have been sent to the network, including many from across Brighton and Hove.
But despite contacting Teddy Bear Lost and Found, and posting messages on Facebook and Twitter, Pinky's owner is yet to come forward.
Ms Manley said she will continue to look after the cat and in the meantime use it to raise money for charitable causes.
Pinky is off on a cycling adventure across the South Downs as Ms Manley takes her along on training trips for her up and coming charity bicycle challenge.
On May 11, Pinky and Ms Manley will be taking part in Davina's Diva100 where they will be cycling at least 40 miles around Sussex to raise money for children's charity Action Medical Research.
Ms Manley said: “Pinky will be my mascot while training and on the ride. If her owner is found before then I hope they will allow her to do the final ride with me.”
