Your article regarding Marlborough House (April 23) reminded me of the late 1940s when it was a YMCA club.

The club had a first-class table tennis team consisting of Brian Leach, Ian Alexander and Ken Stevens.

I wonder whether any of them are still around.

I was playing for Maccabi at that time and we had many hard battles.

There were 13 divisions in the Brighton league at that time but now, sadly, there are only three due to the lack of venues and modern distractions which have led to the failing of youth clubs.

In my 80s, I am still playing in the league and hope to carry on for a few years yet.
