A boy was airlifted to a major London hospital after falling from his bike.

The 13-year-old boy, who has not been named, was taken by air ambulance to St Georges Hospital, Tooting, be treated for a head injury and was discharged from hospital to return home on the following day, Sussex Police said.

It followed a crash at 3.30pm on Saturday in Trefoil Crescent, Crawley.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said: “One ambulance crew attended the scene and we assigned the air ambulance to attend the incident. The boy was assessed and treated at the scene.”
