A police officer has been found dead at a popular Sussex beauty spot.
Andy Cheney, 34, who lived in Etchingham was a constable in Kent Police.
A statement issued by Sussex Police confirmed Mr Cheney was found dead at the Pooh Bridge car park at Hartfield in the Ashdown Forest.
It said: "A post mortem was held on Monday 28 April, and death was found to have resulted from hanging."
The spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious and the coroner's officer was investigating, with an inquest expected to be carried out "in due course".
A spokesman for Kent police said: "It is with great sadness that Kent Police can confirm the death of a serving police constable, which occurred in Sussex on the morning of April 25.
"We are supporting Sussex Police with their enquiries."
