A WOMAN who was arrested for drink-driving twice in two days has been fined and disqualified from driving.

Charlene Palmer, 33, of Saltdean Vale, Saltdean, was charged on Monday (June 2) after she was stopped and arrested in Sutton Park Road, Seaford, at 11.55am.

She was arrested again on Tuesday in Golden Jubilee Way, Eastbourne, at 2.20pm. She was charged with drink-driving a second time and remanded in custody.

She appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court yesterday where she pleaded guilty to two counts of being in charge of a motor vehicle with excess alcohol and one count of driving without insurance.

For the drink-driving offence on June 2 she received a £110 fine with a £20 victim surcharge and had her licence endorsed.

For the charge of driving without insurance, which also relates to June 2, she received a £110 fine and was ordered to pay £85 costs. Her licence was also endorsed a second time.

For the drink-driving offence on June 3 she received a £110 fine and was disqualified from driving for 36 months.

Both Ms Lacey and Ms Beauvois will appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on September 9 charged with drink-driving.

Tarik Girgin, 29, was arrested after a man was seen driving while using a mobile phone at the wheel in Bexhill Road, St Leonards, at 6.10pm on 2 June.

Girgin, of Bromley, Greater London, will appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on July 23 charged with drink-driving, driving without an MOT, driving without a licence and using a mobile phone while driving.

Why wasn't this woman jailed?! To get caught once with drinking and driving is really bad but to go out again the very next day is disgusting. Jail is the only punishment suitable for someone who shows a total disregard for the safety of others.

What's the point if they're then let off with a slapped wrist??? Why wasn't this woman's car crushed for starters?
