Firefighters freed a young boy’s hand after it became stuck in a vending machine.

Eastbourne firefighters were called to The Play Station in Commercial Road in Eastbourne at just after 11am this morning after a four-year-old boy got his hand trapped in the dispenser.

Fire crews used cutting equipment and a hacksaw to dismantle the machine and free the boy who fortunately suffered no lasting injury from the incident.

If this had been a slightly older person, I would probably have assumed that they were trying to steal something. But in one so young, I'm sure that we all hope only that he will be OK.

And the loss of one insanely expensive snack dispenser is no great loss, either...
