I just had to say how impressed I was that Bernard Jordan showed such fortitude in his intention to pay his respects in Normandy.
His determination was a credit to him and the others who fell on the beaches.
I am in awe of him and all of those involved for the freedom they earned for those of us who have followed on. But for their bravery our lives would have been very different.
I am only sorry he was forced to “ to do a runner” to be able to attend. He had earned his right to be there.
