Cyclist seriously injured following collision with van
A cyclist has been seriously hurt following an accident on a major road this morning.
The accident happened on the A22 Lewes Road between East Grinstead and Ashurst Wood when a 49-year-old cyclist collided with a white van.
The road has been closed in both directions as emergency services deal with the scene.
The cyclist has been airlifted to St George's Hospital in South London.
A Sussex Police spokesman said; "Drivers are advised to avoid the area for the time being if at all possible and we appreciate their patience during the inevitable disruption."
