A violent robber who went missing from prison has handed himself into police.
Simon Marcus Rhodes-Butler, 37, absconded from Ford Prison on May 22.
He handed himself into Sutton police station in Surrey last night and was arrested by the Metropolitan Police.
He has been charged with escaping from lawful custody and will appear before a court later today.
Rhodes-Butler was jailed for seven years in September 2011 after he and accomplice Ilyas Ismail attacked and robbed a garage owner in South Norwood, London.
Originally of Offord Road, Tottenham, he was convicted of robbery at Croydon Crown Court.
