AN MP is asking a council for answers about an “unacceptable delay” in the redevelopment of a leisure centre. Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove, has written to the chief executive of Brighton and Hove City Council for an update on the King Alfred redevelopment.
Last year the MP hosted a public meeting attended by hundreds of residents on the redevelopment and also spoke at a Brighton and Hove City Council Policy and Resources meeting in order to keep the desire for a 50m swimming pool alive.
Mr Weatherley said: “I understand that the Project Board has not met for months. As things stand, Brighton and Hove City Council is failing residents.”
