A PRIZEWINNING cake design was unveiled at an international tennis tournament.

Barbara Manning from Eastbourne won the Happy Birthday Eastbourne cake competition run by the Aegon International tennis tournament.

Her design brought to life by sugar-artist Michelle Wibowo from Lindfield was revealed at the tournament on Wednesday.

The Happy Birthday Eastbourne cake was celebrating the Eastbourne tournament’s 40th anniversary.

Pieces of the cake were sold to raise money for the Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

A few tickets are still available to watch world-class tennis in Eastbourne.

They can be purchased from the tournament ticket office at Devonshire Park from 10am each day or via www.ageoninternational.co.uk.

Outstanding matches featuring international star players will be staged every day until Saturday.

Heather Watson yesterday had the biggest win of her career against world number 12 Flavia Penetta.
