A man who went missing from a mental health unit has been found.

Douglas Herr, 42, who was last seen by staff at Meadowfield Hospital in Arundel Road, Worthing, on Monday (June 16) has been found in Kent.

The US citizen had been visiting London before he was detained under the Mental Health Act after he became agitated at Gatwick Airport while preparing to board a flight to Amsterdam.

He was moved to Meadowfield on June 5 to be assessed and monitored.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We would like to thank the media and members of the public who responded to an appeal to trace Mr Herr.”
