A man died after falling under a train at Southwick station yesterday evening (Wednesday).
Southern services between London Victoria, Brighton, Littlehampton, Chichester and Southampton were delayed following the incident at around 11pm.
Replacement buses were operating between Shoreham and Littlehampton but services have now resumed as normal.
A spokesman from British Transport Police said: "BTP officers were called to the line close to Southwick rail station Wednesday after a report that a man had been struck by a train.
"Officers from the BTP and Sussex Police attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 2242hrs and is currently being treated as non suspicious.
"Medics from the local Ambulance service also attended but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene
"A file will be prepared for the coroner. The train involved was a London Victoria to Littlehampton service. The line was handed back to Network Rail at 12.28am."
