BRIGHTON and Hove’s mayor showed off his dribbling skills when he slam-dunked his way through a basketball taster session.

Takepart Brighton and Hove’s Active Forever event at the King Alfred Leisure Centre saw older people try their hand at tennis, archery, flamenco dancing, basketball and more on July 1.

Mayor of Brighton and Hove Councillor Brian Fitch also got involved – showing off his basketball skills.

Advisors were also on hand to give people free tips on how to keep healthy and lead a fun social lifestyle in their old age.

Takepart Festival is an initiative run by the city council with an aim to try and keep people active.

The festival organisers are working with the council’s Sports Development Team to help create activity clubs and groups across the city.
