It was a very good move to promote the deputy Chief Constable Giles York. I am sure he will be one of the best chief constables the Sussex Police Force has ever had.
He has, of course. been a senior officer in the Sussex Police for the past eight years, as well as the acting chief constable for the past few months.
Sussex Police’s gain is a big loss for The Old Cells Police Museum. Giles has been the chairman, so I wish the new chairman best of luck.
Mr York has a wonderful sense of humour which I would think is a must in his new role. He is very fair but will come down hard against any wrong-doers.
Giles, congratulations on your promotion and please don’t forget the Police Museum. You will be very welcome to sit-in at any of our meetings in the future.
