Specialist firefighters cleared up a dangerous chemical spill at a building site.

Hastings Borough Council officers called the town’s firefighters after an unknown chemical began seeping from building waste at 2.50pm this afternoon.

Fire crews cleared up the substance with sand in an operation lasting about three quarters of an hour.
